A Cinelogue screening, Part of Depot's Festive Programme
Introduced by Frank Gray, early film historian and now retired director of Screen Archive South East. He is the author of The Brighton School and the Birth of British Film and is an authority on early film in Sussex.
Broadcast in the dying hours of Christmas Eve, the BBC's A Ghost Story for Christmas series was a fixture of the seasonal schedules throughout the 1970s and spawned a long tradition of chilling tales, which terrified yuletide viewers for decades to come.
We will be screening two of the best instalments of this classic series: A Warning To The Curious (1972) and The Signalman (1976).
