Anime has now fully ingrained itself into western pop-culture; turn on any streaming service and you can find a wealth of Japanese animated TV serials and features. But what is ‘anime’ and how has this Japanese export become so successful outside it’s homeland?
As well as a quick introduction to anime we will also discuss The First Slam Dunk as a case study, analysing its style and narrative.
This short session is designed to accompany the free INTO Film screening of The First Slam Dunk and is open to all home-educated children. For details of the INTO Film screening, and others, see below.
