Stephen Connolly's short films investigate site, history and ways of seeing - from the British Library to the playgrounds of Cuba. Early working experiences with the homeless tuned his interests to the politics of cities, space and community; his work is an ongoing exploration of crafting a response to them in image and sound. Connolly's films have been shown in film and media festivals worldwide since 2004 and he has been the recipient of prestigious production grants from the Arts Council and Film London (FLAMIN). A DVD compilation of his work - Spatial Cinema - has been recently released by the LUX. Connolly teaches at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham.
