Featuring post-film discussion with leading fashion experts
The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically - so just what impact is the fashion industry having on our world and the people who make them?
The True Cost asks us to consider who really pays the price for our clothing, filmed in countries all over the world, from the brightest runways to the darkest slums, and featuring interviews with the world's leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth and Vandana Shiva. This is a documentary that offers an eye opening view into the lives of the many people and places behind our clothes.
The screening will be followed with a discussion with leading fashion experts who have decided to turn the tide locally. Diana Uprichard from Dolly Clothing, independent researcher Mica Lamb and ex-model John Rawlinson will discuss what clothes mean to us and how we can engage in a more sustainable manner.
Followed later in the day by The Wardrobe Revolution Clothes Swap.
