This year, Depot’s Black History Month programme focuses on Black British Cinema.
Getting It Back: The Story Of Cymande tells the story of a group of musicians who came together in South London with a common love of rhythms and a message of peace. In Pressure, the British-born son of an immigrant family from Trinidad finds himself adrift between two cultures. Burning an Illusion sees an increasingly frustrated young woman seek something better with the support of friends. Finally, Isaac Julien’s iconic Young Soul Rebels, a landmark for Black and Queer British film, comes to Depot in a new restoration.
