Depot’s first ever beer festival celebrates talented local brewers
We’re excited to host our first beer festival here at Depot. See out the summer with a celebration of the fantastic local breweries who supply our bar year round. Cheers!
From 12pm on Saturday 20 September, we’ll be inviting four of our favourite local breweries to take over our garden and terrace – Beak, Abyss, UnBarred and Hand Brew Co, who’ll all be bringing a selection of their biggest, boldest and best beers.
Whether you’re already a big fan of these breweries, or if you’re just starting off on your locally brewed beer journey, there’ll be a fantastic variety of beers to try on the day.
Now we couldn’t really call it a festival without a decent line-up of music!
Kicking off the afternoon we’ll be joined by the all-female DJ collective from Lewes, Bang Bang Meringue, bringing an eclectic mix of tunes from reggae, ska, R&B, afrobeat, 80s, alternative and current grooves!
Up next, a live performance from indie/rock/electronic/psychedelic Brighton duo Fukushima Dolphin, providing a fusion of catchy melodies with evocative lyrics, bendy guitars, vocoder/synth and driving rhythms.
Wrapping up the night will be DJ favourites The Flex, spinning irresistible boogie, disco and synthetic gems from Europe & beyond.
There’ll be a range of beer snacks and street food on offer, whipped up by our own kitchen – perfect to accompany an afternoon and evening of beer sampling.
As ever, we will be trying to do our bit for sustainability, and will be using reusable plastic “Lewes Cups” for a deposit of 50p. Or you can bring your own glass or cup; as long as it has a legal measure marked on it, we will fill it!
BeerFest will be spread out over our terrace and garden space and it’s free entry, so head on down and settle in for a hearty session!

Homegrown in Lewes and best known for its hop-forward IPAs, the brewery also makes a wide range of beers from crisp and clear pilsners to decadent imperial stouts
Abyss Brewing
A forward thinking brewery born in the cellar of The Pelham Arms, Lewes, in 2016, brewing modern beers with BIG personalities.
UnBarred Brewery
Established in 2014 from the shed of their founder, born of a passion to brew uncompromising and exciting beer.
Hand Brew Co.
Born in Brighton and based in Worthing, Hand are an award-winning, vegan friendly, independent brewery.
