Fast And Furious Screenwriting Saturday!
One-day script writing workshop led by ‘Scriptease’

It’s back! The course is a fun and informative day for emerging writers of any age (18 +) who are keen to work with two experienced writer / lecturers. At the end of the day, you will have written a 10 page short screenplay.

Using exciting and challenging prompts, you will learn and develop your skills in:

How to generate and develop a workable idea as a premise
How to create and develop believable characters
How to structure a satisfying narrative, including conflict and an inciting incident
How to lay out your script on the page

The day will end with a group reading of the scripts, if participants wish.

SARA CLIFFORD

Sara is a Lewes-based writer and theatremaker, with an MA in Screenwriting. She has written over 40 plays including commissions for the Soho Theatre, York Theatre Royal and Nottingham Playhouse, and her play A Thousand Days, was a Finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn award. As Writer/ Artistic Director of her company, Inroads, she works with local communities to create place-based work rooted in their stories and has developed 10 site specific participatory pieces since 2012. She also teaches writing and dramaturgy in Higher Education and for the Arvon Foundation, and recently completed her MA In Writing for Opera at Guildhall – and her first chamber opera.

LISA FULTHORPE

Lisa’s a Brighton-based filmmaker with many years of experience telling compelling stories. She has an MA in TV and Radio Scriptwriting, has taught creative writing for Creative Future and has been a lecturer in screenwriting at Screen and Film School, Brighton. Her most recent film, Booklovers, which she also directed, was screened at CineCity 2020 and won best horror short at Brighton Rocks Film Festival 2022.
