Finding it impossible to separate them from phone or tablet? Don’t, make them put it to good use instead and make a film.
Over two short days they will learn the basics of film language and then have a go at planning, shooting & editing their very own short films - on that pocket production suite they carry around with them at all times. As filmmaking is a social and collaborative medium your children will also be expected to work together in small groups. If your child does not have access to a smartphone or tablet, that you are happy for them to use, don’t worry, we have a couple of devices available for our workshops.
This course is aimed at younger teenagers at high school level (12+). And is led by Anthony Gates who, as well as being Depot's Education Manager, has had years of experience teaching film and filmmaking to children and teenagers.
