Summer Filmmaking: Teens

300mins   Depot event

Teens (12+): 12,13 & 14 Aug
10:15 - 15:15
£100

Are you the parent of the next Greta Gerwig or Wes Anderson? Or finding it impossible to separate them from a phone? Don’t, make them put it to good use and make a film instead.

This workshop covers everything you need to know to make simple short films using a phone or tablet*. Over three days your teens will learn some basic film language; framing shots, editing a scene, and then have a go at making their very own short films. As filmmaking is a collaborative art form they will be expected to work together in small groups.

The course is led by Anthony Gates who, as well as being Depot's Education Manager, has had  years of experience teaching film and filmmaking to children and teenagers.

*If your child does not have access to a smartphone or tablet, that you are happy for them to use, don’t worry, we have a couple of devices available for our workshops. They can also bring along a camera or DSLR if they wish.

This course is aimed at secondary / high school age children, 12+. If you are interested in the summer course for younger children, it can be found here: Summer Filmmaking: KIDS
