Wine Tasting Sessions in Robert's Bar

We all remember Retsina, sometimes with mixed feelings. But Greece has so much more to offer than the heavily resinated wines that some of us used to buy in 2 liter bottles while island hopping in our teens. The days of ancient equipment, high yields and poor quality are long gone.

The country has grapes that are not found in any other country and Greek winemakers have recently been experimenting with exciting blends of indigenous and classic grape varietals. With its uniquely sunny dry climate, diverse terrain, and a new generation of talented wine-makers, Greece is becoming one of the most exciting wine frontiers in Europe.

Local wine expert Peter Stewart has been visiting the vineyards and drinking the wines of Greece and its islands for more than 25 years. In this tasting, he will introduce a selection of white and red wines from the key wine-making regions on the mainland, focussing on Naoussa, Nemea and the Peloponnese, and also taking in a taste or two of the islands.
