A beginner’s photography course aimed at those with a DSLR camera wishing to feel more confident using it.
Each individual on the course will learn how to fully operate their digital camera as well as understand the fundamentals of photography while looking at current films showing at Depot for creative inspiration. There will be opportunities to ask questions as well as lots of practical exercises.
What will the Beginners Photography course cover?

Manual exposure (ISO, shutter speeds, aperture)

Brief look at file formats (JPG, RAW) and tips on storing images

Lenses (focal lengths, macro, prime & zoom)

Manual vs autofocus (focusing points, autofocus lock, single & continuous focus)

Introduction to White balance

Techniques such as panning and zoom burst
The sessions are led by Kate Swanson, qualified teacher and working photographer. The course starts on March 4 and runs on 4 Wednesday evenings from 19:00 – 20:30 in the Studio. The cost is £70 for all 4 sessions.
Just a note to say loved the course, the content, delivery, pace was perfect for me AND I can’t believe I can use full manual after only 3 sessions and have a renewed interest in taking pictures. Thanks again for your knowledge and help, it really was great!
