Films and activities to inspire creativity and exploration
Films can show us new worlds, taking us on journeys to wondrous places, both real and imagined. At Depot we believe in the power of cinema to inspire younger audiences, broaden their horizons, and allow them to experience new perspectives.
Rascals is a year-round programme of screenings and activities designed for families to enjoy together, culminating in an exciting film festival. Bookmark this page to stay up to date with the latest movies, workshops, and competitions taking place!
We’re proud to work in partnership with Small World Cinema to bring you our interactive workshops for toddlers and film events.
Small World Cinema is an interactive club for children and families, introducing young audiences to cinema in a fun and interactive way.

Little Amélie
From Friday 13 February

The world is a perplexing, peaceful mystery to Amélie until a miraculous encounter with chocolate ignites her wild sense of curiosity.
As she develops a deep attachment to her family’s housekeeper, Nishio-san, Amélie discovers the wonders of nature as well as the emotional truths hidden beneath the surface of her family’s idyllic life as foreigners in post-war Japan.

PLEASE NOTE: all children and all accompanying adults must each have their own ticket.
Accompanying Depot’s screening of Little Amélie, Small World Cinema will run a workshop where we will look at the Japanese character of rain and try our hand at recreating it on the page. We will also craft our own festive Japanese fish kite called a ‘Koinobori’. Koinobori are made to celebrate Children’s Day on 5 May and are hung outside to flutter in the wind. Join us for a creative afternoon inspired by the film.
