To tie in with Depot’s Halloween night screening of The Blair Witch Project, join us for an introductory talk exploring ‘found footage’ horror! This fun and accessible discussion will take place before the film, highlighting key themes and using case studies to illustrate different approaches.
The presentation will cover pseudo-documentary, home movies, and screenlife. Examples cited will include The Blair Witch Project, Lake Mungo, WNUF Halloween Special, Paranormal Activity, The McPherson Tape, and more!
There will be time set aside for conversation and opportunities to ask questions or share personal perspectives. Whether you’re a curious newcomer to the world of found footage or a fan looking to meet other horror enthusiasts, this relaxed session will provide a friendly and inclusive space to get acquainted with a fascinating subgenre. No prior knowledge is required and all are welcome.
