Depot is to host its first artist in residence over the Bank Holiday weekend, in collaboration with the Artwave Festival.
Mosaic artist Edi Jay Mandala will work from a pop-up studio at Depot on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (26 – 28 August), from 10:00 to 16:00. Visitors can see Edi at work and talk to him about his inspiration for this special Lewes commission. Other examples of Edi’s mosaic work will be on show.
To coincide with his residency, Depot is screening Paterson, which follows one week in the life of a bus driver and aspiring poet living a regimented existence in Paterson, New Jersey. ‘Slowly but surely, the gentleness of Jim Jarmusch’s lovely film steals up on you.
