Depot is to hold an open exhibition of artwork inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the works of John Vernon Lord.
Artists of all ages and levels of experience are invited to submit their work for inclusion in the exhibition, Alice Illustrated, which will run in Depot’s Studio from 17 to 24 July. The exhibition is part of a weekend of events at Depot on the theme of Alice in Wonderland, from film screenings and hat competitions to a tea party and surrealist dinner.
The exhibition is being held in partnership with Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft, whose exhibition Take a Line for a walk; John Vernon Lord and Friends celebrates 50 years of revered illustrator John Vernon Lord’s life and work in Ditchling. Lord is one of Britain’s most recognised illustrators, having illustrated many classics of English literature including the work of Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear, Aesop’s fables and James Joyce.
To enter your work for consideration, please call our box office on (01273) 525354, open daily between 11:00 and 20:30. If unavailable, please leave a message and we will get back to you.
The entrance fee is £5 per work submitted, non-refundable, payable at time of submission. Hanging space is limited and we regret that not all submitted work can be exhibited. Pieces will be selected for exhibition by John Vernon Lord and his decision is final.
