Booking is now open for Depot’s 2019 education programme, featuring inspirational courses for old and young alike.
For adults interested in screen writing, there’s a one day course (2 February) on adapting a short story or novel for screen. The day covers techniques for developing your own adaptation and explores the four tools of visual storytelling.
Starting on 9 January, our six week evening course on filmmaking for adults takes you through the filmmaking process from start to finish. Planning, shooting and editing (using Adobe Premiere in Depot’s edit suite) are all covered by experienced filmmaker and lecturer Anthony Gates.
Young budding filmmakers get the chance to explore filmmaking using their smartphone in our after school club for 8-12 year olds – and our separate smartphone filmmaking course for 12-16 year olds – on six successive Wednesdays, from 9 January.
Depot is keen to support the thriving home education community in the local area, building on this year’s well received series. From Tuesday 8 January for six weeks, our home education film courses include film analysis and practical filmmaking, helping students develop their creativity and critical thinking.
