Depot is to host the launch of a filmmaking competition with a £100 prize donated by Brighton Film School.

The competition, called Make it Short, is part of the Lewes Short Film Festival taking place on 14 and 15 October. Budding filmmakers will be competing to create the best short film shot in a 24 hour period.

The event starts with a production meeting to be held in Depot’s studio at 20:00 on 6 October, when entrants will be issued with an information pack.  Shortlisted finished films will then be shown at the All Saints Centre in Lewes on 15 October.

The judges are Jerry Rothwell How To Change The World, The Town Of Runners, Donor Unknown), BAFTA winning animation director Steve Smith and artist filmmaker Abigail Norris.
