Depot Kitchen and Bar has introduced a new range of dishes for Autumn, with an emphasis on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Jerk chicken skewers pack a real punch, served with red rice and beans, roast fennel seed slaw and cooling yoghurt. The chargrilled lamb rump, served with mint pesto and pickled lemon on a bed of couscous, is a contemporary reimagining of a classic dish.

Depot’s butternut and black bean burger, served with smashed avocado and almond crema, is a succulent and satisfying vegetarian alternative; while the sumac roasted cauliflower with baby spinach, dressed with lemon and sprinkled with red chilli and juicy pomegranate, offers an enticing vegan friendly bowl.

New small plates, including pulled carrot sliders, grilled savoy with miso dressing, or salt cured mackerel, are perfect as sides or starters.

Working with local suppliers such as Mays Farm Cart in Lewes, and Brighton & Newhaven Fish Supplies, the new menu includes whole baked plaice (served with rosemary and rock salt potatoes) and beetroot marinated salmon with dill pickled rice.

All dishes are prepared from scratch at Depot, with something to please meat eaters, fish lovers, vegetarians and vegans – not forgetting those with gluten free needs. The new menu is complemented by a range of regularly changing specials.
