WOMEN X FOOTBALL = ART is a solo art exhibition by Jill Iliffe of paintings and drawings celebrating women with a passion for football. Jill was given access to current, future and past players and supporters by Lewes FC (the only team to treat and pay women equally to men), which allowed her to interview and paint these women and girls, who love what they do and commit their lives to it. Using football as a starting point, Jill was fascinated by their approach to life and saw parallels with others pushing against the tide to create a life that fulfils them.
The exhibition is open weekends only from 10:00 to 18:00 (16, 17, 23, 24, 30 November and 1 December)
