Depot has been shortlisted in two categories for the prestigious Sussex Business Awards 2019.

Depot is a finalist for the Tourist Destination of the Year trophy, sponsored by Gatwick Airport. Judges looked for evidence that entrants are developing and enhancing the tourism and visitor experience in Sussex. The other finalists are Brighton Fringe, Phileas Fogg World of Adventures and Ridgeview Wine.

The independent cinema and restaurant has also achieved recognition for its corporate social responsibility work by being shortlisted for the CSR Excellence Award, sponsored by ViiSana. This award celebrates business excellence and innovation in CSR, covering areas such as the promotion of employee well-being, reduction of carbon footprint, improving the sustainability of processes in the workplace, community engagement and protection of the natural environment. News of the nomination comes as Depot launches a new section of its website dedicated to communicating its sustainability agenda.

Carmen Slijpen, director of Depot, said: “Our double nomination in the Sussex Business Awards is fantastic recognition for all our work in developing a successful, sustainable visitor attraction and a cultural hub for the community. We’re especially pleased that our commitment to sustainability is being highlighted by being shortlisted in the social responsibility category – it’s something we think is really important.”

The awards are billed as the most sought-after accolade among organisations of all sizes across the region, celebrating success and achievement in 15 categories.
